BCE Inc. is selling its ownership stake in Maple exotic carts strawberry shortcake strain Leaf Sports and Entertainment to ownership partner Rogers Communications Inc. for $4.7-billion.

BCE, the parent of Bell Canada, said it will use the proceeds of the sale to pay down debt and support its technology expansion plans.

MLSE owns the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team, the Toronto Raptors basketball team, the Toronto Argonauts football team and the Toronto FC soccer team.

The deal is subject to league approvals. Bell Media said it has secured the content rights for the Leafs and Raptors on its TSN sports channel for the next 20 years through a long-term a thechronfather greement with Rogers.
